About Therapy

I provide individual & couples therapy sessions for adults and adolescents. For couples, I offer sessions of varying length, depending on need and preference. I will partner with you to identify your goals and support and guide you in reaching them.  My psychotherapy style is diverse, client-centered, and transparent. You are a valued and equal partner. I am licensed in Virginia to provide in-person services in Old Town Alexandria, additionally I am licensed in DC enabling me to provide virtual services to residents of either location.

Anxiety Disorders

Our anxiety therapy sessions provide a safe and supportive environment to help you manage symptoms of anxiety, identify triggers, and develop coping strategies. We use evidence-based practices to help you manage anxiety based symptoms and improve your mental well-being.

Couples Therapy

I provide couples therapy for you and your partner in a supportive environment. You are the experts on your relationship. With that in mind, we work to restore and maintain communication and connection, which are the bedrock of every relationship. In session, we practice how to communicate differently by slowing things down and making sure you are understanding one another. You leave with assignments and homework to keep you engaged with one another in between sessions.

LGBTQ+

My professional experience and training, combined with my lived experience, make me able to support those in the community facing issues related to sexuality, transition, gender identity & expression, and much more. I provide an LGBTQ friendly and supportive environment where you can be your authentic self. In the current climate, finding ways to increase community and cultivate supports are essential.

Grief Work

Loss is a fact of life. We can experience feelings of grief related the passing of a loved one or of a pet, the loss a job, or as a result of many other life changes, including after tragic loss. Grief impacts how our bodies and brains work and can heavily influence our emotions. We can experience changes in things like sleep and appetite, for example. We also know from brain studies that after a significant loss, our brains have to rewire to help us how to relearn how to live.  Through this process our emotions can be unpredictable and volatile. Through therapy we will learn how to be compassionate with ourselves, learn coping skills and strategies that work for you, and pave a path forward.

Life transitions

We all face transitions that create unique stress  that can  push us into distress. Extra support and a safe space to unpack our feelings can be critical during these times.

Nontraditional relationships

My background and psychotherapy training includes working with folx in consensual non-monogamous relationships, polyamory and other nontraditional arrangements.
